“It’s 5 o’clock somewhere”

Last week, I switched up my daily routine and met up with one of my girlfriends for Happy Hour. She is not familiar with the Orange County area so she let me pick out the restaurant and of course I went with one of my “trusty” go-to places. We met at Javier’s Cantina in Crystal Cove, Newport Beach. The reason why I decided on this location is because you can’t go wrong eating here. The atmosphere, décor and beautiful beach view are perfect for anyone who’s looking for a fun place to dine in the OC. Not to mention, many celebrities like to frequent this restaurant as well such as: Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Dennis Rodman, OC Housewives, Jim Rome, etc. – So you know this place is awesome! Ha ha.

Along with my favorite dining spots, I am featuring my easy after-work look. Whenever I have Happy Hour plans, I try to dress a little more business casual and just add some flare to my outfit. I traded out my traditional black slacks and switched to these H&M olive green pants. It added just enough of a laid-back look that I didn’t feel like I was in my work clothes all day long.

What are some pieces you like to wear when going out for Happy Hour with your girlfriends? I would love to hear your ideas!

P.s I’ve also listed some my favorite Happy Hour spots below. The list could go on forever so I tried to keep it on the shorter side.

My Favorite Happy Hour Spots
Zenko Sushi – Mission Viejo
Hole in the wall restaurant but GREAT food.
Hands down the BEST all you can eat sushi for $30
Charlie Palmer (lounge area) – Costa Mesa
Attached to South Coast Plaza. A little pricier but great ambiance.
Habana’s – The Lab /Costa Mesa
Great Sangria & appetizers.
3 Thirty 3 – Newport Beach
Waterfront views and great cocktails

Sandy’s – Huntington Beach
Best view from a restaurant, basically on the beach under the pier.
Great American food!
Roma Cucina – Downtown Fullerton
GREAT Italian food and cocktails.
Matador Cantina –Downtown Fullerton
The BEST Taco Tuesday/Happy Hour. Brett and I LOVE their lobster tacos!
Mozambique – Laguna Beach
Great rooftop dining with an amazing view.

  2. What a great idea for a post! Wish these were happy hour suggestions by me haha! When I know I have plans after I tend to stick with a dress because I feel like those are so easy to dress up for work and then dress down in a flash to go out.

Love the idea of a dress! I feel like I NEVER wear them to work and I should. Thanks for your tips :)

  4. Great look for happy hour! Mine would be very similar… When I go out with the GFs I love wearing jeans, a cute top, and heels… or a dress (often a maxi dress), and sandals… I definitely like playing around with looks during this time because you’re out with the girls and girls just wanna have fun right? I load up on arm candy and stack my bracelets, wear fun nail polish colors, and seriously… stuff my face and have a martini or 3… Good post!! You look beautiful!!
