‘Looking’ into the future

Recently I have been visiting venues in the Orange County area for my upcoming wedding. My thought process on the title of this post, ‘Looking’ into the future, was to show that I am moving forward in my personal life as well as in my life of fashion. The evolution of clothing has always been fascinating to me because it seems to relate to where we are, in each stage of our lives. I’m sure most of you can relate. With that said, I chose to wear certain outfits featured in this post, that represent current trends and also the new chapter of my life. I believe that the way we “look” at our lives moving forward will most likely determine what we wear to compliment those thoughts. As I continue the seemingly never-ending journey to find the perfect wedding venue, I will not stop ‘looking into the future’ of how people express themselves through fashion. If you have something to add to this post, please do. Wedding tips, fashion, life… I’m all ears!

  6. darling outfit!

Looking into the future is so intimidating for me. I am a planner and if things are not “going to plan” it feels so nerve-wrecking. But, my whole life up until now has felt unplanned anyway. I never imagined certain things to happen and other things didn’t go as I planned. So go figure. As much as I don’t anticipate it, things didn’t go the way I foresaw them anyway.

Good luck with wedding venue searching! It is definitely a challenge. When my husband and I were searching, it felt like a never-ending situation. Nothing could feel real until a venue was confirmed. Even if you find a venue, you have to confirm a date so it’s not realistic until all of that is firmed up. All I can say is don’t get wrapped up in the details until you get the “big picture” settled. Then, you can figure everything out as it comes along. ALSO, it is true. No one notices the “small things” except you. =D So enjoy as much of the experience as you can!

    • Thanks for the tips! Looking at venues has been overwhelming. My married friends were not kidding when they said that was the hardest part.

  9. I completely agree with this post! I love looking at old pictures, and realizing how my style reflects where I was during that moment in time in my life. I really love both these outfits. They look so effortlessly cute!

Also, I wish you the best of luck in finding a venue for your wedding, Lindsey! That’s such an exciting and wonderful thing to look forward to.

  10. I love the pink jumpsuit!

As I grow older I realize I’m less into trendy pieces that sometimes wouldn’t even flatter me or I used to wear things that I wasn’t too comfortable in, but now I wear what I want to wear regardless of trends (though sometimes they do influence me) but I love wearing stuff that makes me feel good and that I’m personally just comfortable in. I also learned to buy less and invest more in great quality pieces. It’s always cool to see how our style has evolved :)

    Thanks for sharing!

I agree with you about having different chapters of style in your life, I definitely dress more mature these days since I am in my mid 30s now, but sometimes have trouble deciding whether something is too youthful for me, because in my mind I’m still 16! Good blog topic.
Love you blog! Congrats on your nuptials. :)
