Today, I’m dedicating this post to my husband for his birthday. It’s been such an honor being married to him and I’m thrilled we’re able to spend the day together. As I mentioned in this post (seen here), he used to play professional baseball and he was always away during this time (Spring Training). Now, that he is retired from playing baseball and running his own business we actually get to celebrate together!
Looking back at our wedding pictures reminds me why I’m so happy and proud to be his wife. He is the most genuine, hardest working person I know and he makes me want to be a better person. I love how pleased we look in our pictures and it’s a true reflection of our relationship – HAPPY.
We ended up shooting a “first look” the day of our wedding because of daylight savings time. If we chose to wait until after the ceremony we would’ve been in the dark! At first, we were bummed that we had to do a “first look” but now looking back, it was the smartest and BEST decision that we made. It saved so much time and we were able to enjoy that alone time together. Plus, we were able to take all of the family and bridal party pictures.
If I could give any advice to future brides and grooms I would tell them that they should take ALL of their pictures before the ceremony. The second idea I would suggest is to have them eat during cocktail hour. One of my bridesmaids did this at her wedding and I thought it was genius! For one, it allows you to actually eat your meal and also you can talk to all of your guests while they eat. I’ve heard from numerous brides that did not eat at all on their big day, make sure you do!
Thank you for stopping by and following along my wedding journey!
